Additional information
Jules holds a Master's degree in Microbiology from ETH Zurich, with a focus on mycology and biocontrol. His professional background includes extensive experience in agricultural research, encompassing both laboratory and fieldwork. This experience was primarily gained over several years at Agroscope, the Swiss Federal Agricultural Research Station, where his work centered on optimizing mycopesticide production and managing pests and plant pathogens in fruit and arable crops.
Driven by a strong interest in fungi and their ecological importance, Jules is currently pursuing a PhD. His doctoral research centers on harnessing the potential of these organisms to develop sustainable solutions for global health challenges. Specifically, he is investigating the application of filamentous fungi in sanitation processes, with the aim of reducing pathogens and transforming waste materials into valuable resources. Through this pioneering research, he is contributing to the unexplored field of mycosanitation.
Jules's free time is dedicated to his passion for cultivating fruits and vegetables, growing and foraging for mushrooms. He also enjoys hiking, which allows him to explore and deepen his understanding of biology and the natural world.
